National Convention
The 9th National Convention of our Association was held at Kanpur on 22nd and 23rd January 2010. The following were elected as office bearers;

Sri. Sushilkumar Parikh (Jaipur) President
Sri. Ravi Malik (New Delhi) Secretary General

We place on record our appreciation to the Northern regional units who hosted the convention at Kanpur especially Sri R K Nigam (Kanpur) for the excellent arrangements. Hope the vast experience of Shri. Parikhji and the vibrancy of Shri. Ravi will help the Association solve our perennial problems in the near future.

Annual State Conference
The 31st Annual State Conference of the Kerala Unit was held at Kochi on 7th & 8th of January 2010. Shri K.P.Dhanapalan MP inaugurated the meeting. Shri. Vineet Ohri, Chief Commissioner, Central Excise & Customs, Kerala Zone delivered the keynote address. Commissioners, S/Shri. J.P.Gregory and M.Vinod Kumar and Arun Zachariah (Inspectors' Association President) felicitated. The following were elected as Office-bearers:

Therefore we must be offensive in our demands. we must demand that all posts of and above the rank of chief commissioner must be manned by IAS officers instead of the IRS officers. Modified ACP is effective from 30.08.08. Prior to that during the period 01.01.06 to 30.08.08 old orders relating to ACP were operative. In 2nd financial up gradation in ACP the scale of asst.commissioner was allowed since 1999. Thus the scale applicable to asst.commissioner ie 5400 in pb-3 was required to be awarded to such 2nd ACP holders.but as a nfsg scale has been awarded to superintendents who have completed 4 years (ie the GP 5400 in pb2) & there is no difference between 5400 in pb-2 and ...Read More
